| Maren invited me to go to the Newport temple with her! The person whose name I took to the temple was Hattie May Joesink. She was an artist and died in 1904 at age 29. A small painting of roses that she did has been passed down in our family; my sister inherited it from mom. Hattie died from cirrhosis of the liver; I don't know whether she was an alcoholic or not, but another main cause of her disease could be hepatitis.  |

| The temple was a beautiful shade of rosy pink-different than most temples, which are usually (but not always) white. Looked up the exterior material of this temple and found that it is Salisbury pink granite from North Carolina! |

| Don't know what it is about the temple and blue skies, but the sky was such a vibrant royal blue today! Really spectacular! |
