Hydro Blue

I don't think it was a coincidence that today's Wordle was azure, there's no doubt that there is a lot of blue going around today!

Beautiful blue sky, beautiful blue Jeep!

Y

Met up with Bryce who gave us a package to transport back to SD for him.
He makes Tom, at 6 feet tall, look short and I'm barely even showing in the picture!

Jeep Quest

Tom and I went on a quest to pick up our new Jeep in Utah.  It was fun seeing several people we knew on our flight to Provo!

We rented a car, but the tires on the truck they gave us were underinflated. I asked if we could have a Gladiator instead and they said yes!  So nice to drive a familiar car in an unfamiliar place!

Funny to have a Taco Time and a Taco Bell in such close proximity!

We chose Taco Time because I worked there when I was in high school.

Evening Light

Took a short walk at Shelter Island this evening and had a
good view of Tom's former helicopter hangars.
Tom flew countless hours from these hangars!

The evening light made them sparkle!
These hangars are spectacular in many ways-they have amazing acoustics!  We used to visit there on the weekend when all was quiet and I would loudly sing three or four notes in quick succession and the sounds would echo back as a chord!  The echo would last twice as long as any echo I've ever heard and was absolutely cool!

Kids used to think the red spot on the seagull's beak was ketchup.

Notice the color gradient from the dust and pollution up to the blue sky.

Deconstructed Basil Fried Rice

Because Trader Joe's often sells by the item, not by the pound,
I bought the biggest sweet onion they had!
This is a regular-sized wok with only ONE onion!

It was huge, sweet and tasty!

Not everyone likes every ingredient in my fried rice, so I made deconstructed basil fried rice-yum!

Crafty Fun

Got a chance to have some crafty fun making these
paper centerpieces.  I decided to make a second set out of
the glitter paper because the first set seemed kind of busy.
I like the glitter  paper set better!

These will get a cushion of tissue paper inside and then
treats will be put on top.
Fun for me!  I love paper crafts!
(Centerpieces did not get used, unfortunately.
Guess I will save them for another time!)

It's Always Something!

Poor Tom!  He strained his Achilles tendon and it hurts him to walk-OUCH!

I had a little talk with Tom about his sentence structure.
When he called me he said he needed to go to the emergency room;
that his leg hurt.  For my peace of mind, I asked him to, next time,
lead with stating that his leg hurt, then saying he needs to go to the ER, as it keeps me from imagining the worst!

Hate to see Tom hurting!  I sure do love him!

We missed Tom at our Saturday lunch.
It's just not the same without him!

Ouch!

Digitizing Memories

After my dad died, I wrote about his death in my journal-
I couldn't write in my journal for several years after that.

After mom died, I looked through all her pictures, but they've
sat in the suitcase I brought them home in for over a year now.

I don't know what that says about how I grieve, but I'm now in the
process of digitizing everything.

These photos are from when we lived in Puerto Rico.

One of my favorite pics

Apparently, I sucked my thumb when I was little.
I vaugely remember doing it, but
I clearly remember my siblings teasing me about it!

Dad-any resemblance to Tom is purely coincidental.

Deception Pass

Digging a hole then making a pole out of driftwood was a thing.

I was a snappy dresser

The "Big Hill"

Loved this oak tree in our back yard.

The rock in our back yard we named,
