We were fooling around with Chatgpt and Kimo wrote a prompt at my request; to make a Strange Planet-style cartoon for Mother's Day. He gave it two prompts that reflect aspects of me and my method of mothering style.
One is that I openly admit to having been overprotective of the kids when it came to swimming in the ocean. Until they were strong pool swimmers, I never let them go out deep in the ocean waves and was constantly having to rein them in. This did scar the kids a little bit, but they are alive to tell that tale.
And then, I have made a conscious effort to tell our family stories over and over again, both the kids' stories and stories from Tom and I and our childhood. I do this because my parents didn't and I know very few stories from their youth!
