SpaceX Launch

Tom just happened to open up our curtains and there was

a SpaceX launch happening! Grabbed my phone in time to

take a few pictures-very cool to be able to see these launches 

so regularly!

Presidio Park Picnic

Presidio Park is really beautiful, the pine trees are tall and spectacular, filtering the golden evening light.

Had a nice picnic with a couple of church friends. Good to get to know them 

better as there never seems to be enough time to talk in between church services and meetings.

 

I augmented KFC with some homemade potato salad, green beans and chocolate chip cookies.

I had the thought come to me that it would be a good idea to invite different folks to come join us for picnic dinners.  When I mentioned it to my family there was zero support for that idea!  Tom said it was one of those things where prying yourself away from home is hard to do, but once you get there, you enjoy it and I sure understand that; I'm a homebody, too!

Still, had a good time tonight with good company-very satisfying!

 

Misty Morning On the Point

Kimo started his internship this week, but since he left

his truck up at school, I get to drive him every day.

I like getting to spend a bit of extra time with him!

Kimo's internship meets on the point-literally!

It is so beautiful on the point! Even tho' we have a free pass
to all the state parks, Tom has to be with us to be able to use it!
So I went ahead and bought a year long pass to Cabrillo, 
because I knew that I'd want to go solo walking there more often.

More Fireworks

 Kimo wanted to go see the SeaWorld fireworks over Memorial Day weekend.

End of the Tom-Era in Nursery

Tom was released from Nursery after 

serving as leader for several years.

Tom is good with the little ones 🧡

He played with them in "the big room".

And got on the floor with them.

He gave them consistency, patience and structure.

Emi served with him and I was in there quite a bit, too.

Tom taught them that Jesus loves them and that he does as well!

                                  It will be fun seeing these little ones grow up.
 

Redlands Temple

 Made an overnight trip to Redlands to go to the temple with the family! None of us had ever been to this temple, so we were excited to go and do baptisms for the dead.

So good to be with Tom (kids, too) in the temple!

Then surprised the kids by making an appointment 

at Noobs Virtual Reality!  They thought we were going to an Abraham Lincoln museum, which would have been cool, too, but we tricked them to give them a nice surprise. I've not experienced VR much, but this turned out to be very fun after learning some of the do's and don'ts, ie., how to not run into each other or the walls.

Bathroom was cool

There were four different scenarios for our session: Aliens, ogres,
zombies and lazer tag. Kimo knew how to play most of the games,
so he outscored the rest of us by a wide margin!

When I took a break to get a drink, I got to witness the family interacting 

with the VR scenes and objects.

Redlands was once the world's largest navel orange producing region. 
You can see reminders of that throughout the town.

Had a really good time with my family on this trip, but it will be good to sleep in my own bed tonight!
