Sushi Sandwich

Wanted to try out this sushi sandwich that I saw online.
We started off with a sheet of nori cut from the middle
of one side to the center point, then added rice to one quadrant.

Added spicy mayo to the rice then cucumbers and celery.

Tom added tamago egg and fake crab to complete each  of his quadrants.

Now the folding begins! 1...

Internship #2

Kimo is at the end of his second internship with NIWC.
These internships have been so good for him for many reasons;
he got to learn about diverse subjects ranging from air
flow calculations using fans and bending allowances for sheet
metal to how to procure materials in a timely manner.

Mike Anderson was Kimo's mentor-couldn't ask for a better one!

Tom also mentored Kimo, teaching him about metal working, etc. Tom has a wealth of knowledge of just about everything having to do with building or fixing things. His God-given skills have blessed our family again and again.

Kimo scavenged most of the materials used to make the box; old metal cabinet shelving for the sides, fans from old servers, nuts and bolts from who-knows-where!

Presentation day!

Appreciation for Mike!

Telling about his project

Kimo excels at talking with people.

Kimo even learned how to use my Cricut machine to make decals!

Way to go, Kimo!

All-Nighter

After going to urgent care and getting a diagnosis and treatment regime,
Kimo's symptoms weren't getting any better, in fact they got worse.
So, late at night we went to the emergency room and pulled an all-nighter.
Got the correct diagnosis and Kimo is now on the mend.

Kimo is under there somewhere.

Brave rabbit in the parking lot.

Let's just say ouch.

Resting up with dad.
I love them.

Balcony Maintenance

Our little balcony needed repairs having some soft spots on the on the floor.
HOA arranged for the repairs, but not for the painting.
Good for us that we had some paint leftover from another project
that was perfect for this job.  Thanks, Kimo and Emi, for painting!

Looks a lot nicer!

Matilda

My little neighbor comes from a theater-loving family.
Her latest play was a junior level version of the musical, Matilda.

She really seems to love acting!

This little girl carried a big bulk of the production starring as Matilda, and except for being a little quiet (even with the mic), she did a fine job.

Sweet 16

Our little niece is not so little anymore, celebrating her 16th birthday!

Too hot for us outside, we stayed inside and made a puzzle.

Kiko is a pretty cat

I didn't even know this many colors existed!
These alcohol pens are what she wanted and boy, did she get some!
