We thought Kimo might have a stress fracture so the doctor ordered a
bone scan for him after a regular x-ray came up negative.
Still no sign of a fracture, but we did get this wonderful bone scan image
of his skeleton! After injecting a small amount of radio active substance into Kimo, they scanned him to see where it settled; it settled any place where his bones are growing or his bone growth plates! Dr. pointed out that his nose was still growing! I pointed out that his cranium was not! His growth plates are still far apart, Dr. said, so he still has some growing to do.
*Note that Kimo had a wedge under his knees and was laying slightly crooked for the scan and that his bladder is glowing since that is
how the dye is excreted.
