Football Banquet 2013

JV and Freshman football teams had their
awards banquet and I got to make some
decorations for the tables and walls. It
was super fun looking at all the
old yearbooks!

All photos from past Point Loma yearbooks
and the current JV and Freshman teams.

Marston House

The Marston House is a cool craftsman style house
here in San Diego, open for tours.

Our tour guide, Kimberly!

I love pocket doors!

These shelves are slightly tapered
on their edges to lessen wear and tear on the books!

Beveled door panels~!

Built in shelves, in this case, for sheet music.

Cool crochet!

Another built in!

Laundry shoot.

Called a California Cooler; caught the cool ocean breezes
and used them to keep the pantry cool.  Said to be at least
10 degrees cooler in the cooler and it was!

Thanksgiving Trip

Camped at the State Beach Park in San Clemente where we survived
the rain well and got to know neighboring San Juan Capistrano a bit.
Nice trip with the family away from electronics (for the most part).
I'm thankful for my family and our camping tradition!

Tent held up great and dry in the rain!

Steep path to the beach

Stormy waves

Took a wrong turn in Dana Point and stumbled upon this big ship.

Not your typical woman on the bow!

Chili Cook-off/Trunk-or-Treat

Church has a Chili Cook-off every year.
We serve the chili in little cups to keep the samples
separate and have a multitude of cornbread.
The missionaries act as judges and at the end
of the evening we asked them if they wanted
to take some of the leftover chili home.
They declined!

Peanut goes in, candy comes out!
Little kids liked this game even tho' I neglected to
have the girls paint on a mouth; oops!

Kimo's first year in a long time where he wasn't
glow man.  This year he's a fork in the road.

Thought this was funny seeing the poster
lighting the trash on fire during the clean up.
Funny how everyone disappears when it's time to
clean up.

I didn't get a great shot of Emi's Star Trek costume,
but here we are together!

Youth Doings

Just a few things the kids have been doing this summer...

YW took an intro to scuba class with my neighbor, Steve.

Kimo and scouts in the San Diego area attended
Zion's Camp, geared toward LDS campers.

On another camp, Kimo helps some of the younger
campers hiking.

Kimo packed in a steak and asparagus dinner.

At the scout fair, Kimo's troop made ice cream using
liquid nitrogen (I think).

Emi and the youth made a temple trip

baptisms for the dead.
